Grandpa's Back!

Posted By: Frank B

I know some think the borderline incompetence of these criminals is amusing
and laugh it off. They will learn from their mistakes however and get better at it and
it probably won't be so funny down the road when things aren't so transparent.

They use numerous shill bidders or just use a private auction. They steal scans
(notice this guy realized that swiping from auctions won't work so he now has
ungraded cards up). When these guys work out all the kinks it will not be
so amusing. Buying ungraded cards is tough enough. Just imagine if this one could
write a nice, understated description instead of using the stupid grandfather script.

Posted By: Russ Bright
well since i live less than 100 miles from the guy and could use a good redback cobb (looked REALLY trimmed?) I offered to drive to moses lake so i could see them in person - citing that his scans were kinda small and i wanted to view the cards in person to which i received this reply -

Dear ambrosia2112,

well ill be over there this weekend in auburn maybe we can meet up somewhere i wouldnt mind doing that im over there every weekend my girlfriend lives there in auburn so that wouldnt be a problem at all

- jessej3734

SO.... I'm wondering if I should call his bluff and check them out? or should I be wary of getting mugged, a thief online is a thief in person?

strange that he should seem so EAGER to meet up with me -

R
Posted By: barrysloate
Russ- meeting up with him may be more aggravation than it's worth, but if you do it might be a good idea to bring along a friend. I don't like meeting up with strangers who have or want to buy baseball cards, and I always insist we meet at my bank. That seems to be a safe place.
