Posted By: Dan Bretta
Here was mine: "My resolution is to stay focused. My goals I guess would be to continue working on the Scrapps set, and locate a copy of Guy Green's "The Nebraska Indians: a Complete History" book."

Well believe it or not I located and bought Guy Green's book - which is really unbelievable since I think there are only two known (mine and Yale U's)- and it happened in January!!! I gave up on the Scrapps set and stayed very focused on my areas of interest - even picking up a dream item -something I didn't know existed, but it basically fell into my lap just by asking an ebayer a few questions after winning something else he had listed. (Lincoln panorama)...he's even now a contributor on the memorabilia board.

Posted By: Adam
My goal was to buy every T206 card (in a PSA slab), except for (1) commons, (2) southern leaguers, and (3) the Big 6, and I was able to do that, so I consider it a good year.

Posted By: Dave Hornish
Well, if my recently won T206 Red Cobb arrives before the 31st I will have completed my goal of acquiring all 4 Cobbs in 2007 as I get over the first hump of that set. My only goal and I nailed it.

Posted By: Bob
<<<To complete the Delong, tattoo Orbit and M116 sets is my resolution, all are doable as I am down to a couple of cards in each set although the Sporting Life duo I need are pricey.
Everyone have a safe and happy New Year's.>>>

I managed to do all 3 With a tip of the hat to David McDonald whose gift of the M116 Wood made that set complete.

Posted By: Doug
Yep. It's not exactly pre war, but I wanted to get a 1952 Topps Mantle and I ended up with two of them so I guess I didn't do too bad.

Posted By: Jason Carota
Goals from previous post:

Resolution: Reduce impulse purchases and focus my collection.

Most Wanted (all PSA/SGC 3 or under):

1. T206 Tris Speaker
2. T206 Harry Pattee
3. E90-1 Charley Hall

I have definitely reduced (basically eliminated) impulse purchases. My collection focus has been narrowed to Red Sox players only, with an occasional misc. pickup.

As-far-as the "Most Wanted" list goes, I acquired the Speaker (w/ PB back) and the Hall. I didn't aquire the Pattee T206. Since my collecting habits have since become focused on the Red Sox, it doesn't really matter.

Posted By: Jantz
I didn't post my resolution because it wasn't until The National that I met Leon & he invited me to join. But that didn't mean that I didn't have a resolution at all. I wanted to do two things this year.

1. Quit smoking - I haven't had a cigarette in since 1-1-2007.

2. Start working on my T206 Cleveland Team set - I probably would have met this resolution if it wasn't for the members on this board. Let me explain. At first I was only going to go for one card of each player, but some of you have motivated me into acquiring some of the different backs also. I am impatiently waiting for my third Wilbur Goode T206 to show up any day now.

Thanks again & I hope you and your families have a wonderful Christmas and New Year.

Jantz

Posted By: peter ullman
I guess I didn't really have any specific goals for collecting this year. I think I've changed my focus of collecting away from type collecting to yankee and HOF'er cards I like. I did pick up an e90-1 keeler throwing which I've wanted for a while.

pete ullman

Posted By: boxingcardman
I finished an Exhibit boxing set but then a master set variation popped up. I did get every fighter in the set but I am a back variation short on the known master set.

I finished a baseball Exhibit set--for now--the PC back 4 0n 1s. Until a new one surfaces, that is.

I did add one more ludicrously tuff O'Doul card: 1952 Globe Printing.

Sic Gorgiamus Allos Subjectatos Nunc
