Lajoie & Baker Pinkerton's ??

Posted By: chris
Hello All,

Your help is appreciated on this one...just got these from a client who's father was the original owner (so she says), dating to early 20th cent...they have pinkerton fronts, blank backs with faint pencil writing which looks period (will not show up in scan), any idea what these are? Thank you for your help...

I collect these and have 8-9 of them. Great find.

Found with scorecard and blank backs, from the 1911-1915 period.

Jeff

Posted By: Jeff Mohler
Nice pickup. I have 14 different ones myself. I don't have Baker of Lajoie yet.

I would get they are worth around $500.00 with the writing on the back. Anyone else have an idea on value?

Posted By: jeffdrum
Jeff,
I think that prices tend to vary. I have paid up to $275 for a clean example with no writing on the back. There are some players that you tend to see a lot more often than others as well. I think a Griffith just sold for $280 or there about on ebay this week. I have a couple that are not listed in the SCD Guide. Seems I recall buying an Eddie Collins from our leader last year for around $200.

Jeff Drum

Posted By: leon
I don't see the W530's listed in Sugar or Burdick. I have them classified as W530 also. Where the heck did we get this from again? BTW, if I am not mistaking I got 3-4 of these from you including this Wagner...(some time ago).....regards

Posted By: Jerry Rucker
Just picked this one up for 280.00 if that helps with the pricing. Wasn't Pinkerton a Tobacco Company therefore shouldn't they be listed as a T card like their Cabinet counterparts?
