Posted By: barrysloate
Who is SCG?

I would think SGC would not be pleased with a company that uses a name almost exactly like theirs.

Posted By: Dave S
Perhaps "SCG" is this seller's privately-owned grading co., obviously an attempt to confuse with SGC. 7 negatives speak volumes! Look at his label on this one, obviously a self-printed and handcut job:
http://cgi.ebay.com/1932-Sanella-Babe-Ruth-2-Graded-SCG-9-MINT-8-750_W0QQitemZ250182113839QQihZ015QQcategoryZ31721Q QssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Posted By: Jimi
Am I the only one? When I first got into getting cards graded, I used to think SCG made sense because the company is called SportsCard Guaranty, hence S C G. I can see where some people might get confused. Wow, this guy really has some gonads to be trying to use another company to his advantage!

Jimi

Jimi

Posted By: Jimi
I'm actually glad this thread was started. I've been using SGC for about 3 years. I know they used to have a different label with that funky looking design in the background a few years back, and I guess my naive self once thought they were S-C-G because of the letters in their title being in that order. Obviously, I'm no longer confused, and I haven't been for 3 years, but if I was a bit off on it, then I'm guessing others are, too.

Or.....I just live in my own paradimed universe and am simply an idiot!

PS. My good friend, Bob, I've been used to saying this same thing with my loved Browns....just wait until next year..... The Central Division should be tough!

Jimi
