Post your highest graded cards....with paperloss!
Posted By: Dave F
With Josh's comments about my E98 (which I agree with)...would be interested to see everyone's highest graded cards with paperloss...I'm gonna guess there would be more highly graded PSA cards here...but we shall see...

Posted By: Marc S.
Slightly better corners than your Lobert above...I'll try and post a scan, but it may be a bit, as I have a lot of business travel looming.

Posted By: Bob
I'm with Josh, I never get higher than a 30 despite the beautiful front if there is any tiny paper loss on the back. The 40s that are coming back surprise me...

Posted By: Jeff Lichtman
Josh, I'd love to see the back of that card. That is some front.

Posted By: Jeff Lichtman
Josh, that's crazy. I'd take that 2 anyday with the paper loss. The front is a 6 at least, correct?

Posted By: JK
Jeff,

I'd say at least a 6 - higher if it wasnt off center. Here's another, but the back damage is a little worse. And you should see the Donovan that I mentioned in the pick up thread - its only a 10, so its not topical for this thread.

Posted By: Dave F
I wonder if the grading companies take into consideration not just the area on the back with the paperloss, but how deep as well? (sounds stupid, but i'm just trying to make sense how some of these get a 2 and others a 4 or 6!

Posted By: JK
Dave,

I might be wrong, but I dont think it matters to sgc at all - except that it might knock you below a 30. Ive had conversations with reps at sgc who have indicated a 30 is the best your going to do - of course, that does not explain your chance. My guess, if you sent the chance back to sgc for a review, it would come back a 30. I'd still take it any day of the week.

Posted By: quan
i do look at how deep the paper loss is. i've had a few nice e93s with varying degrees of paper loss. it does look like josh's cobb (the 2nd spot) is "punctured" deeper than just the top layer where the printed text are.

i'll show my e98 clarke later bought from bruce that is an sgc20 (front looks vgex-ex) that i was contemplating crossing to psa for a bump...but i decided against it because with the deepness of the cut i felt it would've come back a 1.

Posted By: JK
Quan,

I think the scan is decieving. The paper loss on the cobb is actually not too deep at all.

Posted By: quan
icic...on my clarke here i think u can see how deep it is...u can make out 4 different layers like a rock deposit shown on the nat'l geographic channel.

sgc20 btw
