Which of these sets should I dabble with?

My personal preference is the 97s but I do like the Ramly's as well. If you choose the 97s, my experience is that the first 12-15 cards will come fairly easily. Then it gets tough. The next 5-10 are very difficult and the remainder are even worse. I have been collecting the set on and off for about 4 years and I still need 7 cards, not including the variations.

Both are tough sets, though...with some especially difficult cards. BTW, what happened to your T3 adventure?

I have no intent on trying to complete either set, that is unrealistic for me...its more to just pick one of the two to possibly gain a few more examples of. The question may be if I'm looking at either set in say PSA 3 or SGC 40 range...would what I expect to pay for commons on the average? Its been hard for me to nail down a price for that as what I've looked at seems to be all over the board in those grades.

I do think the Ramly's might be a little higher in the same grade? <br /><br />I think my intent would be to collect a few commons here and there in the SGC 40 range...maybe a HOF'er in a 10 now and then.

I tend to dislike cards with ornate borders - or where the 'design' of the card is the focal point and not the player on the card.<br /><br /><br />So - for my taste - its the e97s.<br /><br /><br />(no offense intended - like I said, its just a personal preference)

It's the first I've ever actually had in front of me...and to be honest it made quite the impression...from all the scans I've ever seen I'd agree it didn't look that attractive to me. <br /><br /><br />Ockday...thanks...I looked up the prices on the Ramly's...but again I guess I'm just more used to T206's...mass number of cards in the same grade selling where its much easier to pinpoint values.
