Lemke Catalog Question
Posted By: Kyle
Quick question for those who own the book. Anyone ever try cutting out the modern checklist junk? It'd cut down the size to at least 1/4! Any success stories keeping the binding in tact?

Thanks!

Lemke Catalog Question
Posted By: leon
I posted this in the wrong place first....For about $4.00 Kinko's will do an excellent job for you if you don't want to do it yourself. I had some publications bound there recently and they did a great job. (I am not affilliated with, nor do I own stock in Kinkos, Fedex, or any of it's subsidiaries.)

edited grammar
Lemke Catalog Question
Posted By: Kyle
Well I killed it. The modern is in the recycling bin. Kinda wish I had a BBQ for it (stupid condo with no balcony... grrh).

For those who may consider doing the same there, there is what I did.

Took an exacto and cut out approx 50 pages just after the modern section started. Once the noticeable gap was present, I took the knife to the binding and cut off over 65% of the book. Then I tore out the rest of the pages, trimmed down the back cover and taped it back to the front.

Looks so much nicer, and weighs a lot less!

I am in no way affiliated with companies that may chart courses or offer navigation system services. In fact, I find myself lost quite often, and of course will not stop to ask for directions.

Lemke Catalog Question
Posted By: Dan Kravitz
I don't have my copy in front of me, but isn't there a section in the back of the book that has minor leaguers in it. Don't forget to keep that section (Ruth BN, Jackson t210, etc.) I always thought the publication should have been distributed in 2 seperate books. You need a back brace to carry the thing around.

Lemke Catalog Question
Posted By: Paul S
...I always wondered why there isn't any searchable CDs as a companion to catalogs, such as the Lemke, in Excel format or a small self-contained searchable database? For example, quickly search any listed card, in tobacco issues only, and the listed prices. The discs could be copy protected to prevent duplication if they are worried about that. Or, the same thing but as Internet access if you purchase the catalog (or even separate subscriber). You log onto the website and search the data you want, and at the same time you have another browser window open on an auction site, or this forum, for instance (beats balancing a catalog on your lap while online.) If you have a handheld wireless you can stroll around a convention with it, instead of a lumpy catalog. Just an idea.
