Brown Hindu back on T206s
Posted By: Adam
Can someone explain to me why a T206 Mathewson portrait graded only SCG 20 is going for so much?

http://www.goodwinandco.com/LotDetail.aspx?lotid=1833

Is is because:

(1) a brown Hindu back really adds that much value? (I go by http://www.t206museum.com/page/price_list2.html and that indicates the multiplier for the T206 Mathewson portrait with a brown Hindu back is only 2);

(2) the card is of a HOFer and it has a Hindu back?;

(3) the front of the card is in really great condition despite the low grade it received;

(4) the buyer just really, really wants the card?

Or is it some combination of these things? I just find this to be a lot of money and I am not sure what I am missing (for the record, I put a $300 bid on the item, but it's going to go for a whole lot more than that).
