Dan G. has been kind enough to lend me the scan.

With that said I hereby present Ty Cobb's true "rookie" card from 1906. Let the fun begin.

Let's see your TY Cobb "rookie" cards
Posted By: Pennsylvania Ted
I hope you understand that the 1908 date on the PSA label is incorrect. The E102 set was
issued in 1910.....or late 1909.

The proof of this is, is that certain players in this set were traded to their identified team in
the summer of 1909.

Posted By: Jeff Lichtman
Ted, yes, I know about the true date of the E102. I suppose Cobb has many 'first' cards, no true 'rookie' cards. In my mind, the postcards are probably his first true cards -- assuming one can describe a postcard as a baseball card.

And Jim...if you want that card badly enough...you know what will get it for you.

Posted By: Pennsylvania Ted
Not enough controversy yet....So, I'll throw this "baby" into the mix....and, while we know this Cobb
card in no-way can be regarded as a "1st card"....can it perhaps be considered as his "last T-card" ?

We know the T216 cards were issued as late as 1916...but, no one has ever confirmed a date on this
very unique Cobb.
