Cards with the jersey swatches...
Posted By: Mark T
on them from the 2007 Upper deck have been selling for big money. My friend just pulled one with a Ruth jersey, Gherig bat piece, DiMaggio jersey, and a Dickey jersey. Only 25 were made of his card.

Now i know many collectors hate when they hear that jerseys were cut up to make a card or Gherig's bat was splintered to put on a card.

He paid $250 for whole box and expects to get double that just on 1 card. Are they really worth the money.

Also, i don't think this is O/T because its a card with vintage links to it.

I appreciate you thinking about it and if that thread, questioning frequency of OT's, only makes folks think a little before starting new OT's maybe it served its purpose.

I hate that they cut up jerseys from bygone eras. As to value it will be what anyone will pay. My guess is that only time will tell. Could be another beanie baby (low) or could be pre-war cards type of long term value (high).....

Cards with the jersey swatches...
Posted By: Steve f
I despise these trophies of destruction and hope the bottom falls out. BUT, I did bid on a Josh Gibson 'bat' card that turned out to be a listing error... Was a piece wood from old Forbes Field, so I backed out. Then again, his actual booty may have one day touched it!

Posted By: Mark T
I hate to see something like a Ruth jersey or Gherig bat destroyed. The owner must have gotten a ton of money. A box of 2007 Upper Deck cards is $250 and they are all sold out from what i hear.
