This is what I sent him (and his reply).<br /><br /><CENTER>----------------------------------------------------</CENTER><br /><br />My email:<br />FYI, this is not about a baseball game between Detroit and Cleveland but instead a political ribbon from Detroit against Grover Cleveland's re-election bid for 1888. Still a very neat item.<br /><br />His Reply:<br />Thank you for this information. You have seen this ribbon before? I intend to stop the auction and research the ribbon. The specific August 1 date would indicate an event in Detroit on that day, possibly a political rally.
