Best ways to protect slabs?
 

Posted By: <b>Dave F</b><p>I was looking around on eBay for some sleeves for the slabs, then got to thinking that with the sleeves the cards may not even fit in the boxes made for the slabbed cards? So now what? <br /><br />Also has anybody tried any of that cleaning solution for slabs off eBay or the likes?

Some slab collectors think that soaking to remove paste, tobacco pieces, or dirt is altering...<br /><br />Maybe the most certain thing to do would be to donate any slabs you have to a museum, with them agreeing that the slabs are on permanent loan, that the museum can't transfer, sell, or alter the slabs, in which event the slabs would revert to being owned by you or your descendants. That way there's no chance that Gilbert or I would ever acquire the slabs... 'cause we'd crack 'em open like an oyster.

Posted By: <b>Joe Pelaez</b><p>Resubmit the slab.<br />Resubmit it until you get the right slab grade.<br />If that doesn't work?<br />Crack the slab.<br />Forget about the card, that's not important, and it's only secondary to the slab.<br />When you send the card back in, do not tell them that it had been slabbed before.<br />If you get the right slab grade, the next step is very important.<br /><br />Register the slab grade.<br /><br />Population reports of Slab Grades, will be the next hottest thing in da MARKet.<br /><br />Don't be left out.<br />Be the first rich kid on your block to have the new high tech T206 tobacco binders.<br />Muscle men, to carry your New T206 binders to a show, can be rented out cheap at $100.00 dollars an hour each. <img src="/images/happy.gif" height=14 width=14><br /><br />

Posted By: <b>Scott T</b><p>Being the uber-nerd I am, I place all my slabs in graded card storage bags and then place them in whatever wooden storage box I use.<br /><br />Graded cards in bags fit well inside the MJ Roop boxes. <br /><br />Graded cards in bags also work in Pennzoni boxes, but I have had to remove two of the dividers. Posted By: <b>Dave</b><p>my girlfriend makes protective sleeves on a sewing machine out of a soft hemp fabric....they end up looking similar to the ones that PSA used to give new members. they really keep the plastic from getting scratched.
