I almost put a bid down, but I had other stuff I was bidding on that I wanted more, so I backed off. Glad I did, as this ended for far more then I was willing to spend. Nice piece, I hope a board member snagged it.

That team's personnel was very close to this one and consisted of: Satterfield, Galloway, Gordon, Williams, Watkins, Wallace, Northrup, Walker and Garcia. An interesting note that I found in an old newspaper article about Garcia - in October of 1904 he was catching a game for the Cuban Giants - he caught a foul ball, "but then, to the astonishment of the crowd of 2,000, fell over on his face, the ball rolling slowly from his hand" and died on the spot (the big guy had a heart attack - 28 years old). <br /><br />Sorry, I diverge.<br /><br />Rob M.
