Posted By: <b>Dave</b><p>Thought it might be good to get differing opinions on what works the best when selling cards on ebay...<br /><br />How much do you expect a card to sell for before deciding its worth it to list the card in the featured section?<br /><br />Best guess on how many days for an auction? 3, 5, 7, 10?<br /><br />For those that like to list a BIN, do you prefer to list for over the amount and include a best offer price? Has this method worked well for anyone? <br /><br />Should you keep auctions simple? brief description and one or two pics tops? or elaborate to the point someone that knows nothing about the card may get interested and go with multiple pics?<br /><br />Starting auction price?<br />

Posted By: <b>Cobby33</b><p>1. Depends on what you expect to net. I don't sell "for a living," so my profit margin expectation is much lower. I usually forego the extra $30 unless the card is going to sell for at least $500.<br /><br />2. I would say 7. 3 and 5 are too short, you don't get the exposure you would normally get. 10 is too long, as people have many times found other things in the extra time that they would rather spend their money on.<br /><br />3. I always do Best Offer with BIN. BIN should be your "best day" price and Best Offer gives you the opportunity to take the money and run, or hold out for more (don't be greedy)! BIN without Best Offer is useless, since it disappears after the first bid (unless you have a reserve or high starting price, which scares a lot of people off).<br /><br />4. 6 of 1, half dozen of another.<br /><br />5. $.99. Believe it or not, you'll get a lot more preliminary action once the first person bites. You'll have more people bidding at $100 once it has bid up, as opposed to someone starting at $100 with their first bid.<br /><br />Have fun!

Posted By: <b>dennis</b><p>ebay is great for selling cards. helpful hints<br />1)offer a return policy<br />2)offer a fair shipping charge/combine if buyer buys more than 1 card <br />3)discribe the cards defects, besides showing best scan you can.<br />4)don't BS about the card or player or the condition<br />5)take paypal<br />6)don't BS why you are selling the card<br />7)do not put 6 cards in scan. 1 card per scan unless selling 6 cards<br />8)offer a fair starting price 99 cents common 9.99 hall of famer<br />9)too many ebay sellers over charge for buy it now.most people here know their inventory by heart! check past auctions and see what that card sold for in past as a guide.<br />10)always use delivery confirmation <br />11) insure anyting you ship over an amount that you would not want to reimburse a sale.<br />12)be prepared to not see a whole lot of bids until the last day/hour/minute.<br />
