W553 Question

Posted By: David
This is my first post and I'll be the first to admit I'm no vintage expert so please forgive me if this is a stupid question.

I recently picked up a W553 Al Simmons and can't find any reference to it amongst the W553 listings, though admittedly my reference sources are a few years old. I'm hoping to get a gauge of it's scarcity.

Thanks in advance.

David

[img][/img]

W553 Question

Posted By: Paul
All W553's are scarce. I've been collecting them for about four years now, & have only 8 cards. I dont have access to my 2005 Standard Catalog right now, but I'm pretty sure Simmons is listed.

W553 Question

Posted By: fkw
The checklist is now up to 15 different including the Simmons (HB $200). Back about 5-7 years ago the checklist only list a couple cards but it has grown by a couple a year ever since. They are fairly scarce.

W553 Question

Posted By: David
Much appreciated.

Yeah that would make sense. The book I looked at was from 2002 and it only listed 3 or 4 cards.

Thanks!

David

W553 Question

Posted By: Rhett Yeakley
The W553's are tougher than many people think. Just picked this one up recently, I love the color, makes for a very striking card.
-Rhett

W553 Question

Posted By: Paul
Rhett, very nice card. I rarely see the red color variation. Here's a "salmon" tint or magenta color. I think the red & magenta tints are more rare than the blue & greens, but I haven't seen enough of them to be sure.
