Posted By: Frank Wakefield
So is PSA trying to buy it, so they can get that mistake out of public hands?

Could PSA afford to buy back all of their mistakes? Certainly, just think how much money slab collectors send them.

Posted By: Dylan
I noticed this a while ago but didnt post on it after practicaly being ostracized by Leon for posting about a Magee in a Magie PSA holder. apparently these errors are so common that there no longer worth while to mention. However i think errors on holders regarding cards of this stature ARE worth a mention. How much better can PSA make SGC look? It doesnt leave one much faith in their grades if they cant even identify the card right on the holder!

Posted By: T206Collector
...is that what E95 Planks go for in VG 3 condition? Or did this one get a premium because of the error?

Posted By: Glenn
Paul,

That's more than they typically go for, but I think the higher price is more attributable to the particularly nice eye appeal for the grade than for the "T206" grading label.

Posted By: Judge Dred (Fred)
You'd almost have to assume that someone wouldn't blindly buy a T206 Plank unless they knew what it was. Then again there may be people that trusting/stupid/ignorant that would trust a grading service to not make such huge mistakes.

We often mention that grading is subjective. I don't think that labeling and identifying a card should be subjective.

Posted By: Gilbert Maines
If the purpose is the registry, who would care about the card? You are buying the holder.

For registry purposes, this is a t206 Plank. Every bit as much as a Heinie is a Honus.

Posted By: EcardCollector
Is there some sort of incentive besides bragging rights to this set registry. I understand spending big dollars on a PSA 9 T206, but to spend extra money just for a mislabeled card for a registry? This would truly be the epitome of buying the holder instead of the card. for that matter why even care if a card is even in the holder. If I had a T206 Plank I could just carefully crack it out over and over and sell the holders on ebay for big bucks!
