Posted By: William Brumbach
Maybe his grandfather didn't like him and stashed reprints all over the house for him to find after the old man passed away. I might have to keep that in mind later on if my kids turn out to be rotten.

Posted By: fred snodgrass
It's simple, grandapa kept his valuable cards in the attic because he always feared a flood. This way here they wouldn't get water damage. Too bad this nimrod couldn't see these responses!!

Posted By: davidcycleback
Putting aside the issue of authenticity, my question about these types of fakes is
why would a person want to pay money for something so ugly. Isn't the object of
collecting to purchase things you enjoy looking at, rather than that induces vomiting?

For the average person off the street, he would wonder why someone would pay $300,000+
for the infamous 'blue eyed' Honus Wagner as the card appeared so dirty and ugly and cheap.
And, the average person off the street would have it right. It was the sellers who
didn't realize that, irrelevant to authenticity issues, card collectors aren't going
to spend a small fortune on something that you have to have hidden from view at
meal time.

If HBO or the Daily News wondererd why the card didn't sell, all you'd have to tell them
is "Because it's ugly." No need to explain the authenticity issues. If the reporter
asked you to explain yourself, you would have the reporter compare side by side sharp digital
pictures of the 'blue eyed' Wagner with any number of SGC and PSA graded Wagners.
After comparison, the HBO or Daily News reporter would say, "I see what you mean.
That card is ugly."
