Posted By: S Gross
This is one of those examples, IMO, that the imperfections add to the sincerity of the subject:

"To my way of thinking no contest at second base, Hornsby couldn't catch a pop fly, much less go in the outfield after them,, could not come in on a slow hit, Lajoie could not go out, nor come in, and did not cover too much ground to his right or left. Collins could do it all .... "
-- Ty Cobb

Posted By: Paul
Frank,

That Lajoie is very interesting. What size is it? Could it be from the Felix Mendelsohn prototype set that includes Mathewson and Schalk? I know a board member has the Mathewson. Maybe he can post a scan for comparison.

Paul

Let's see your.... Napoleon Lajoie cards!
Posted By: Bruce Babcock
Frank, I used to have a few of those. From what I can tell they are some kind of Cinderella cards. With blank backs and no indications on the front it is unclear where they came from. They so seem to share a lot of images with M101-4 and M101-5.

Let's see your.... Napoleon Lajoie cards!
Posted By: Brett
Its hard for me to say what Lajoie card looks the best because they all are neat looking. If you look at the rest of the HOFers from different sets, i'd say that the Lajoie ones are the best overall. Or atleast the top 5 anyways
