Posted By: Zach Rice
I am very pleased to own this piece. It features a very young Cobb along with Crawford and Jennings. It was produced some time between early Oct. 1906 and March 1st 1907. However, it does picture the 1907 Detroit team.

Interesting postcards with the same name and address on the back as if it were a business card, the name of the player and a unique number on each card as if they are part of a larger set.

Jay

I love pinatas. Posted By: Dan Bretta
Jay, one thing is for certain - the original owner of the cards who stamped his address on them did so in 1963 or after since it has a zip code. The postcard backs with the name written on them in ink are all very similar to postcards that I have that are purported to be from the 1950s-60s and made by Jim Rowe using his photos along with Burke and Brace photos.

Posted By: jay behrens
ahh, I think you are correct. If I remember right there was a card produced for just about every major leaguer from around 1901 to the time they were issued. 2 of the players in my group have no card and the Judnich is only on the Browns team issue from 1941. May not be vintage, per se, but they provide images of players from that era. Good enough for me and the price was right.

Jay

I love pinatas. Posted By: Dan Bretta
Maybe this is the same kid in Zach's 1907 Tigers postcard? It's Matty McIntyre's son....you can read at the bottom "My Boy in Detroit" in Matty's handwriting.

This photo is from the 1906-07 time period.

Posted By: Dan Bretta
Jay, there's an ebay seller out of New York that sells mostly scorecards/programs of minor league teams and he throws in these postcards as extras when you buy from him....or at least he used to. He never to this day puts pictures on his auctions though so you're never sure what exactly you're getting...but that's how I got mine.

Posted By: Joann
Thanks Scott and the rest. It's not actually a post card - the back is entirely blank. Just a cabinet card, I guess. But like I said, I'm glad to have it.

As to poses, they even switched around that day. Here is a photo of the same team, same backdrop, same photo shoot, but players rearranged. It's from the BBHOF web site. I like my card even better after finding this photo.

Joann

http://www.baseballhalloffame.org/education/primary_sources/women/photograph_01.htm

Edited to try to get the link right
