I tried to figure out if this might be Jim "Lefty"Faulkner who played for the Giants and Dodgers in the late 20's when he was in his late 20's, but I highly doubt it. Nice antique market find anyways, real photo post card, probably from somewhere in the 20's. Jim.

Now that i look at it again, it seems odd that the photo wasn't printed on straight but the back is fine and the printing and photo seem to be right for the period. Posted By: <b>runscott</b><p>While the writing in the background has nothing to do with the player, it does give a clue: William Faulkner was notorious for doing book signings in Mississippi to promote his early works. This makes sense as his writing was clearly unreadable even in the 1920's - his only chance of success was through self-advertisement. Clearly the player in the photo played for a wretched team that felt it could draw a crowd by promoting yet another miserable Faulkner book-signing.
