What do you do with your old Standard Catalogs?
Posted By: Paul
I saved my first edition, but have been rather inconsistent about saving and tossing later editions. They take up a lot of space, and I can't imagine they have much value. On the other hand, it might be interesting to look back at the change in values over time. Just curious what other have been doing.

Posted By: fkw
I save them all.

I still use the older ones for some items. There are items in the older catalogs that are not in the new one. Like many oddball pins.

What do you do with your old Standard Catalogs?
Posted By: Griffins
I cut the back half off (the modern section), give it to the first kid I see at a show, and reattach the cover to the now- vintage only edition. Doesn't take up much space, and is a good trend reference.

What do you do with your old Standard Catalogs?
Posted By: fkw
The first I do when I get a new SCD....... I chop out the 1980-Now stuff and reattached the minor league/index section and I have a book thats 1/3 the original size. Ive gotten fairly good at it. This years book came out perfect (only 1" thick). Looks like it was made this way.

What do you do with your old Standard Catalogs?
Posted By: Frank Wakefield
Grif and fkw, you must both be absolute nuts!!!

In my opinion that is a wonderful thing to do to those big catalogs. And If I think that way it must be ludicrous. If I meet either of you one day, say maybe in St. Louis next year at SABR, then I'll have to buy each of you a beer.
