2/1 T205.....Let's see your Mis-Cut T205's

Posted By: Ted Zanidakis
Recently, I acquired this interesting T205.......it is the 1st time I have seen a T205 mis-cut
like this. The adjacent card is that of Tony Smith who played SS for the Brooklyn Superbas.

How many other "strange" T205's are out there.....let's see them, guys ?

Also, I would like to revive a previous Thread's discussion regarding the T206 5-card Wagner
"proof" strip (view this strip on link below). I don't recall if this strip is being regarded as some
"uncut strip"....or what ? In my opinion....based on close observation....it is simply 5 - T206
cards pasted together. The border lines between each card clearly indicate this. Besides the
incongruent colors on Bowerman and CYoung cards and the fact that this strip is blank-backed,
tells us that it does not represent an actual production piece.

I am open to any further discussion on this subject ?

http://www.t206museum.com/page/periodical_32.html

Posted By: Ted Zanidakis
The repeated vertical printing of the same player so far has applied to T206 cards.
I don't think we have discussed this process as applied to T205 cards. But, it looks
like the front of Adam's Bergen card indicates that it could apply to T205's, also.

Adam.....is the Konetchy back printed on the Bergen front ?

T-Rex TED

2/1 T205.....Let's see your Mis-Cut T205's

Posted By: Shawn Adkins
Great post Ted, believe it or not I was going to start the very same thread this evening. Since we're off to a good start, I'll throw a few into the mix.

Some misapplied gold border shots

A couple of miscuts

A couple extremes

And a (likely) pair.

These cards are an active pursuit of mine and have been for a while. There is no better way to piece together the original sheet configuration. And yes, I am certain these were printed in sheets. The same player was repeated vertically while the horizontal cards were different. I have around 25 similar cards and have yet to see any that disprove the sheet theory....yet.

Shawn

Posted By: Anonymous
notice the small but strait dotted line of chipping where the cut should be in the gold border at the top. Do you think this is the result of a cutter malfunction?

Posted By: Tef Zanidakis
Since your Tannehill was sliced above the center line of the gold border, the only
explanation I have is that the cutting blade started the cut properly and in a split
second the cardboard sheet shifted, resulting in the mis-cut card you have.

What is more significant about your Tannehill card is that it reinforces the vertical
repetition of players in the printing of these cards.

T-Rex TED

Posted By: Ted Zanidakis
BRIAN W

Well just like T206's.......some of these T205's are vertically repeated and then
some are not....as in your Mattern/Smith.

Well, if we combine my Titus/Smith with your Mattern/Smith, we have the start
of a neat puzzle. These three cards form an reverse "L" with Titus and Smith on
the horiz. axis, and Mattern on the vertical axis above Smith.

It's a small start, but if we get more miscut T205 inputs from our members here
perhaps we can construct a partial sheet configuration.

COME ON GUYS and GALS.....LET'S SEE YOUR MISCUT CARDS.....I KNOW THERE
ARE MORE OUT THERE ?

T-Rex TED

Posted By: Shawn Adkins
Adam - Can I see a back scan of your Hauser? It appears that the card to the left may in fact be another Hauser which would be our first example of the same player repeated horizontally. Thought maybe the back would lend more to support or disprove this idea. Notice the downward tail on the R in his signature matches up very nicely.
