help id these 2 cards
Posted By: fkw
Those 2 cards are from different sets. You'll notice the caption is slightly different. Both sets are currently uncataloged, but share the same/similar checklist with some of the York Caramel sets, 1928 W502, Yeunglings, etc. .

They are a blank back variation of one of the sets.

They are similar to the set cataloged as 1931 W-Unc. in the SCD, but are not from that set. They are also similar to a W502 but with a blank back. They may have been issued with an unknown candy or ice cream. They are still a mystery. One day they will be listed something like "1927 W-Unc." or "1928 W-Unc."

They have been the subject of a couple posts within the last year or so, and quite a few over last 5 years. Im sure others will add some info.

Here are som old posts you can look through (1-5 years old)
http://www.network54.com/Forum/153652/message/1105891901/

http://www.network54.com/Forum/153652/message/1029959212/

http://www.network54.com/Forum/153652/message/1111959220/QUESTION+ABOUT+1928+W502%27S

http://www.network54.com/Forum/153652/message/1144096861/

To add, I believe the white back card (Heilmann) would be best described as a 1928 blank back ice cream card, but obviously you cant be certain which company, but most likely Tharp's or Sweetman (Yeungling's and Harrington's have the name within a box and have lower qualitly photos, W502 has a different font).

The brown back card (Judge) I would describe as a "1928 blank back" but dont know of a set that has the brown paper back. The front is like a 1928 W502, but back color is different.
