Vegas National?
Posted By: Chris
This may be a dumb question, but why doesn't The National make its way to Vegas? They have a nice convention center and flights are cheap.

Well, I just thought about it and realized that card collectors don't like to eat, drink and gamble... so, Vegas probably wouldnt be a good place for the big show.

Also, don't know if you guys covered it, but I just read that Mr. Mint had it out at the Anaheim show and said he will never do a National again! Thoughts?

Vegas National?
Posted By: David
I can't agree about card collectors not liking to eat, drink, and gamble. That's probably why I can't afford to finish most of my sets. I wouldn't mind seeing the National come to Vegas. I went to the one in Anaheim this year - an easy trip since I live in the LA area. Wasn't a bad show. Nothing like the feeding frenzy in 1991 - which was a good thing. Still too many upscale dealers selling graded cards. Not enough guys with boxes of lower grade stuff for us poor folk.

Posted By: Tim James
I happen to work (day job) for a display co.in Nashville, and alot of our bigger clients go to Vegas every year.Their facilities and attractions make this site one of the best for them.I really would agree that Las Vegas should be considered.
Edited to say : Considering what Jim said,Mr.Mint may not show at this one !!

Posted By: DJ
I'm down for Nevada. Five years ago, I was looking for an excuse to hit Vegas and I saw "Baseball card show with special guest Dick Williams". I booked my trip, walked around the dozen dealer tables with shiny, shiny, shiny and after ten minutes, hit a Omaha Hi-Lo table (and ponies) which consumed me for eight straight hours.

A show in Vegas would be good for the patrons who would be willing to take a cheap flight there and even with family, but probably bad for the dealers who shouldn't expect strong attendance and will probably lose the monies made at the show playing table games.

DJ

Posted By: Bob
I am down for Vegas too. There would be enough money left after the food, drinks, shows and gambling to buy some cards plus who really wants to go to Cleveland (although I will be there just to chat with 54 guys and gals).
