Rarity Question With a Caveat
Posted By: David Vargha
Okay, the caveat first . . . There is a good chance I may sell this card at some point, so Leon please forgive me for asking this here. BTW, I will post a scan in a bit since it is a seldom-seen card.

I just got a D328 Weil Baking Sam Rice card back from SGC (SGC 60). In looking at the Pop. reports, only 10 D328's have been graded by SGC and just one by PSA. This is the only Rice and EX is the highest grade for the set (3 total at this level). How scarce are these cards? I don't really know a whole lot about them.

DavidVargha@hotmail.com

Rarity Question With a Caveat
Posted By: jay behrens
A whole lot harder than I expected them to be when I first got into the hobby. The book put out by Erbe and Mitchell made it seem like they were fairly common cards, but learned quickly that wasn't the case. I'd love to get my hands one just say I have since I never did track one down in the 80s.

Jay

A good friend will come bail you out of jail. Rarity Question With a Caveat
Posted By: leon
I track oddball issues a little bit and these are fairly scarce. I would say I see about 10-15 a yr. for sale. As you are well aware it's always supply vs demand for value. The supply isn't there but the demand is not great either. (again from what I have personally seen over the years). Would a Cobby or Wagner do well? of course. I think it will command a slight premium over a regular Collins McCarthy but not a lot.....maybe 25%-50% for a HOF'er and 100%-150% for a common....just swag's......nice card.....

Rarity Question With a Caveat
Posted By: Richard
I think there were a bunch of e135 weils in the last mastro auction. All in 1 lot.

|
Rarity Question With a Caveat
Posted By: Richard Masson
True, there were groups of both Holsums and Weils in the last Mastro, but they were too pricey and the condition of the cards in the lot were very rough. Whoever bought those now has the biggest groups around.

Leon, I was unaware of that back. Is it catalogued? How many exist?
Rarity Question With a Caveat
Posted By: leon
It's not in a catalogue and is the only one I have ever seen or heard about...
