Altered or genuine wear?

Posted By: eatturf
I know this isn't a baseball image, so Leon please feel free to delete this. I picked this up about six months ago and have finally decided to get it graded. I know it won't grade well due to the paper loss, but I'm more into it for the protection. I thought I would dip into the well of knowledge that is this board and ask if this card has been altered. The area that I'm concerned with is the left edge. Toward the bottom it looks a little scuffed. Not sure, but increasingly more paranoid, thanks to this board , that it may have been sanded of buffed a little. Your opinions please.

Posted By: Eric B
These are exactly like the N28's in size and paper.

It's possible that it is a factory cut, but since the bottom right corner moves in and is sharper than the rest, I would say "evidence of trimming" is likely.

BTW, how do we get a board specifically for non-baseball Pre-war tobacco cards? With the Forbes and Mitchell book out, I can see a lot more interest.

Posted By: Gilbert Maines
It is a little narrower at the bottom than the top, but not much. I don't think that it is altered.
