Are These "Real"?
Posted By: David Vargha
I was under the understanding that these were strip cards that have a stamp on the back that is not original. Does anyone have any knowledge of these?

http://cgi.ebay.com/1923-Neilsons-Chocolate-Card-BURLEIGH-GRIMES-1-1-PSA-6_W0QQitemZ160003278469QQihZ006QQcategoryZ31718QQr dZ1QQcmdZViewItem

DavidVargha@hotmail.com

Are These "Real"?
Posted By: leon
I know that Kendigs Chocolate and Oodles Candy Bar cards are not good...don't know about this one (for sure). Certainly wouldn't take it for granted that it's good because it's in a PSA holder..... Neilsons should have an E120 type front, at least all of the real one's I have seen. I would be suspect of this card in this auction.....regards

Are These "Real"?
Posted By: David Vargha
Josh -- The 1922 set does look just like the American Caramel set. These allegedly are from 1923 and look like W572's. They didn't exist until a "find" ten years ago.

DavidVargha@hotmail.com

Are These "Real"?
Posted By: Josh K.
If there was a find over ten years ago, why no mention of the set in old cardboard? I also thought it was merely a W572.

Posted By: David Vargha
The Standard Catalog list the set in quotes and according to Lemke, it is of dubious origin. I was just shocked to see one slabbed.

DavidVargha@hotmail.com

Are These "Real"?
Posted By: fkw
This group of W572 cards is known, they were thought to be authentic W572 cards with a modern (1970s era) stamp on the back. They are listed on page 247 in the 2006 SCD Catalog. I have owned a couple and they actually sell for a slight premium. There is said to have been only 47 cards in the 1996 "discovery". The 2 I had and many others Ive seen have been graded by PSA.

Frank
