Posted By: edacra
I have a grading conundrum...

So let's say you have a card with perfect sharp corners, good centering, color, everything looks pretty minty at first glance.
From the back the cards shows visible creasing on about 35% of the card which isn't noticeable from the front, plus a small amount of paper loss toward the edge of the card, possibly from being taped in an album.

What's the best grade it can hit with the flaws I mentioned?

Posted By: Steve M.
Not only was there a slight paper loss there was some slight paste residue as well. My experince with SGC is don't expect more than a 10 if you have paper loss or paste residue. The front really won't help you. With that being said I personally don't know why we get so hung up on the backs. "Ohhhhhh, the back is a little OC, ergo it is not acceptable". Come on now!

Posted By: edacra
Well, I was expecting the card to be closer to Ex-NM from the Ebay description and it arrived with a couple more defects then anticipated. Guess it's going back. I wasn't sure just how much of a hypochondriac I was being. Thanks for the feedback.

When are beat up cards going to start commanding a premium for having extra character? There's reprints if ya want sterile and perfect.
