Part of the reorg, I believe, involved moving to a new state and making the business a part time endeavor. <br /><br />From what I understand, they are back up and running and offering all of their products - only difference is that they are doing all order taking via email/internet.<br /><br />I ordered two more archival binders with some custom printing (on the slip cover since I store them laying flat) last week - should have them in a week or two.

For those who have ordered archival binder systems, how have they worked out for you? Are they really of "museum archival" quality? Additionally, when you order a "binder system", does it come with 3 binders or just one? Whenever I saw pictures on their website, it appeared that there were three binders in a "system". I could be wrong though, as I often am.

Posted By: <b>Paul</b><p>I've never used Roop's binders, but the wood preservation case I got last Christmas didn't work for SGC slabs, for the lid wouldn't close. I had to cut out the bottom of the trays, & remove the thin cardboard insert under the lid to get the box to close. Roop claimed they never had that problem before, but never offered me a refund or a solution. However, I do like the box, now that I got all the slabs to fit.

Of course, if more of us bought their stuff, we wouldnt have to worry about it (disclosure - I have no financial interest in MJ Roop - I just wouldnt want to see them go out of business since I really like their binders). <br /><br />As for their binders, they are sold individually. I presume that when they are referring to a "binder system" they mean the binder, d-ring, slip cover, page lifters and checklist. I have no idea what museum quality actually means - but I can say that the binders are nice looking and constructed well.

Museum quality? Not sure what that means but the binders are solid and the slip covers are great. The boxes are also well done. I've got mostly PSA slabs and they fit perfectly in the boxes. I also have many SGC slabs and while they take up more space, the boxes do close. However, I don't have any boxes which are just filled with SGC slabs so perhaps my experience isn't determinative on the ability of the boxes to just hold SGC slabs easily. Without their boxes, I have no idea where I would store my slabs, of which I have well over 2000. Probably have to buy a new house...
