help identifying autographs
Posted By: Alan Elefson
Hi-
First of all, thank you to everyone who posts to this forum. It is the one website I make sure to check every day, as the information provided here has been invaluable for me.
I recently found 2 autograph books from the late 1930s-1940s. Many of the autographs in these books are identified (usually with a newspaper photo), but more than half of them (about 100 or so) have no picture. I was wondering if any board members were interested in helping me identify these autographs. Below is a scan of one of the pages. I can email more scans to you, if you are able to help. Please either respond to this post or email me privately with your email address, and I will provide scans. Many of these autographs are from the early to mid 1940s, including several players who were called up to replace the big leaguers fighting in WWII. There is a heavy emphasis on Red Sox and Braves, as this collector was from the Boston area. Most of the signatures are from American Leaguers. If anyone would like to help with identifying these, I would greatly appreciate it. I also cleared this slightly off topic post with Leon to ensure it would be legitimate.
aelefson@hotmail.com
Thanks again,
Alan Elefson
