Lets talk Rose Postcards

Posted By: Jeff Mohler
Did anyone else notice the price brought on Ebay today for a Rose Postcard of Eley of the Scranton ballclub? I thought a bit more than $700.00 was a bit steep, but hey, how often do they come up for sale!

Maybe we can get some scans of more Rose postcards on this thread. I sure know that I would like to see some. How tough are they? What are their values?

Jeff

Posted By: Steve M.
While it does take two to tango the high bidder on the ebay Rose is a Scranton collector who has been building his Scranton Rose sub-set for years and really needed the card.I'm sure that there are many on this board that know Scalp2 very well. In the meantime here is my contribution:

Posted By: Bruce Babcock
I've posted this before. The mailed message actually refers to Doyle.

Posted By: Steve M.
it was a perspective that made the typeface on the Doyle look odd. In checking though I see that it is in fact accurate and appears to be the only Rose with that particular typeface.

Posted By: Lyle
Sorry , my Rose Company Cobb scan was inadvertently from another source .I'll try to get another scan up tomorrow .
I think it is very difficult to assoign a value to an item which is seen so rarely . It is hard to believe these were designed nearly 100 years ago !
