Slightly OT, Inflated Feedback
Posted By: Paul
More eBay fun. The seller of this fake Fro Joy sheet had 7 feedbacks when the auction started, but went on a .01 cent buying spree to beef up his feedback.

http://cgi.ebay.com/1928-Authentic-Babe-Ruth-Fro-Joy-Uncut-Sheet-RARE-NR_W0QQitemZ8765979647QQcategoryZ31719QQssPageName ZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

Posted By: Joann
Oh my gosh. Who's selling all this $.01 stuff?? Is this some kind of help-each-other-build-feedback-ratings ring? No one sells things for a penny - even e-things. It has to be some kind of feedback inflating scam. Wow.

Joann

Posted By: Steve M.
What is the Paypal fee to a seller on a $.01 item? What a scam! For one cent, free delivery, you get glowing feedback. Just goes to show that you have to check out more than just the numbers.

Slightly OT, Inflated Feedback
Posted By: Charlie O'Neal
I remember griping about this about a month back. Most of the .01 items I have seen on eBay is for a picture that is emailed to you. The ones I remember the seller actually states not to send money for the item he will just send you the pic as long as you leave feedback.

This is one of eBay's gray areas I believe b/c you can find enough ebay auctions that would get you a respectabe rating costing you only a couple of dollars and then turn around and start selling like you have a good reputation only to screw the buyer.

I wonder how many fake T206 Wagner's well see before long with the person having a feedback score of 500.

Posted By: Jon Canfield
I don't get it though... doesn't the seller have to pay 35 cents to list this auction? So, is he ssentially taking a 34 cent loss each time he does this?
