Posted By: Patrick McMenemy
Hi Jon:

I have seen other felts from this issue for McBride and Chief Meyers. Both had the same rectagular rough cut, and the same red felt color.

Whether this is a valid uncataloged issue or some type of larger pennant that was later cut up remains to be seen.

Patrick

Posted By: fkw
Very Very Rare, and Very Very Ugly!!!

I have seen about 5-6 different including a Lajoie, Mathewson, and now a Cobb. Never seen the Ainsmith, and I dont think Ive seen a Doyle, so they are new ones to me. For the condition of the Cobb I wasnt going to go over $275, But I wanted it. It went for 2X more than I thought it would.

A couple years ago, I averaged out all the known players and came up with 1912, so thats what I call them.

ca.1912 (B-Unc.) Felt Cards

If you look at the McBride, you will see the tip of the name scroll of the felt to the left of this one. So they were printed right next to each other then cut out.

Posted By: Glen V
They were obviously cut apart. The important question is whether they were cut up before they were issued or if they are from a piece that was cut up.
