Help for the Caramel Knowledge Challenged
Posted By: James Feagin
I'm on vacation and just went to a random card shop. The owner has 3 1911 E94 Close Caramel cards. I am smart enough to know they are originals and not reprints. He has John McGraw, Byrne, and Turner. They are in P-F condition. The McGraw has a heavy crease and minor writing, as does the Turner. The Byrne has no writing and is creased. Still they are presentable and he offered them to me for $100 for the 3. Is this a good deal and will SGC grade card with writing on them. P.S---there is no back damage.

James

Posted By: Brian McQueen

Sounds like a terrific deal actually. SGC will grade cards that have writing. My only concern would be if they are trimmed since they are not slabbed already. However I think that even if they ARE trimmed, this would still be a good price for three e94s, one of which being a HOFer.

Posted By: fkw
Sounds like a great deal, his price of $33 ea. is about 6-8 years old. All Caramel cards values have jumped lately. High book in the SCD is now $3,100 total for the 3 cards (NRMT). I lucked out about 3 weeks ago and got a lower grade E94 McGraw for only $11 on eBay, it was being auctioned as a T206.

Frank
