Posted By: <b>davidcycleback</b><p>Wayne, most early baseball players had nicknames (Babe Ruth, Lefty Grove, Cap Anson). Some had 2-3 nicknames. This can make identification tricky for obscure players, especially when they have a common last name. This is why I initially asked if Grover was his real name or a nickname.

Posted By: <b>Patrick McMenemy</b><p>Hi Wayne:<br /><br />Was your ancestor from Canada...London, Ontario? That's where George "Moon" Gibson was born. He came up through Montreal in the minors, and played most of his career with Pittsburg. I happen to collect his cards. Here are a few:<br /><br /><img src="http://www.network54.com/Realm/tmp/1135734529.JPG"> <img src="http://www.network54.com/Realm/tmp/1135734566.JPG"> <img src="http://www.network54.com/Realm/tmp/1135734599.JPG"> <img src="http://www.network54.com/Realm/tmp/1135734728.JPG"> <img src="http://www.network54.com/Realm/tmp/1135734765.JPG"> <img src="http://www.network54.com/Realm/tmp/1135734805.JPG"> <img src="http://www.network54.com/Realm/tmp/1135734875.JPG"> <img src="http://www.network54.com/Realm/tmp/1135734936.JPG"> <img src="http://www.network54.com/Realm/tmp/1135734963.JPG">
