Looking for Cracker Jack sites / info

Posted By: cmoking
I've always been intrigued about the Cracker Jack set, but never collected it. But I've started thinking and drooling over them...at least the stuff on ebay right now. I especially like the cards with the players in poses, rather than the protraits. The head-on portraits seem to get a bit boring since it has the same background and just feels like every card is identical. But the Honus Wagner profile is a great card....a great shot of how big his nose was. How many of the CJs are of portraits vs profiles vs action shots?

There's a bunch of great sites in the Vintage Links, but I couldn't find any that was devoted to the Cracker Jack sets. Anyone know of a collector's site with pics and any info?

Posted By: cmoking
great link...thanks. I had seen it before, but had forgotten about it.

A collector told me that the back of the high number cards show that 15 million cards were produced....and as I see the back of the Shoeless card, that's exactly what it says. With 144 cards in the set, that means they produced roughly 100,000 of each card! It's amazing how few exists today.
