folks- warning ...less O/T

Posted By: leon
Let's stick to vintage baseball cards for a while. This is the only warning about O/T (off topic) stuff for a while. Nothing personal if I delete a post that's not about the forum topic. This is not an "everything" baseball chatboard.....every now and again is ok but there's been too much recently....best regards

edited for spelling...

Posted By: Lee Behrens
I agree with Leon, there is getting to be more and more threads I don't even bother to read because they have nothing to so with vintage cards.

I think what might revitalize the board is vintage questions by newbies. They may be basic but they are the core of collecting and you never know what kind of knowledge are going to tap out of one of the readers. Alot of us have been on the board a long time and that seems to be fewer and fewer responses or threads by the "old timers" .

If any of you are afraid to post I am more than willing to answer questions, the most of my knowledge lies in T206, T202 and I might know a thing or 2 aboout other issues.

Lee
Posted By: DSGreen
Rather than starting another thread and seeing as I fit Lee's description, I was wondering if there is any T202 that features a Brave/Rustler in the center panel? I know that there are examples that have Brave/Rustler players on the outside panels but would the possibilty exist that there is an example that has Brave/Rustler players on the outside panels and also in the center panel? Thanks for the help.

Posted By: Lee Behrens
Lobert Almost Caught features Hans Lobert and Johnny Kling a Rustler by 1912. The odd thing in the photo is that Kling is trying to tag Lobert at a base and he is a catcher and seems to be wearing his catchers mitt.

Lee
Posted By: leon
Just in case anyone thought that this was like a joke or something....it's not. I have deleted 2 threads in the last 2 days that were totally off topic. To restate an opinion of mine, and my committee (they've moved up to committee status ) we would rather have 20 good threads than 25 unfocused ones. This is a Pre-WWII vintage baseball cards chatboard, for those that don't know or have forgotten..We aren't generally identifying anything but those types of baseball cards and on rare ocassion an O/T by an everyday board member.....thanks for your understanding and nothing personal on the deletions......regards all

edited to lock the thread as this is not really open for comment..
