Baseball paintings in major auction houses

Posted By: will watson
i know this isn't vintage card related, but i figured this would be the best place to get input. Leon, if you need to move or delete the thread, go ahead. my apologies for posting it.

i recently purchase three oil on canvas paintings on ebay:

the Cobb and Wagner measure 15 inches by 26 inches, and the Ruth measures 18x21.

i have no idea who painted these, so they aren't from a "name" artist like Perez or Vernon Wells. but they look pretty cool, and i've seen similar such paintings in auctions such as Mastro and REA.

my question is, would it be a good idea to consign these to a major auction house? i bought all three for $54 total. i have no idea about the value of paintings, but i could see someone paying a lot more than $54 at auction. does anyone have any experience with something like this? i looked through a few REA closed auctions and found several paintings selling good money
