I just picked up this Clopay Foto-Fun Galan, and wonder if its the exact same card that was talked about nearly 5 years ago?

Also do any of you have one in a sepia tone like this? Most Ive seen are blue tint.

Frank these originally came in the frame/wrapper with a clear negative and a piece of developing paper? It looks like someone may have used the original negative on a different type of developing paper to produce the sepia color you have here, theoretically the negative could be used by someone with photographic know-how to produce these sepia images (they were probably following instruction #7 on back). Not sure what that means in terms of value (for me personally, I would want the original blue image developed on their cyanotype-like paper).

Thanks Rhett, I thought that myself, but dont have another right now to compare the paper too.

Edited after searching a bit:

PS I found one in a search that is similar Sepia color but no frame. May also be on a different aftermarket paper.

Another question... why are they listed in the ACC as a "R" card, R329? Thought that was Post1930 Candy Issues.

Leon's great unused example (below) has a shoe ad, not Candy. But his back is also different than mine in many ways, different wording, no "#7", "Clopay Square" as the address, etc.

I guess the name "Clopay" back then, was the film/plastic/window blinds company from what I see on Google. See here http://www.clopayplastics.com/clopay_history.htm
PS. There is also some old LIFE Magazine ads for their blinds with the same address as Leons card, Clopay Sq. Cincinnati. so Im sure its the same company.

Maybe Burdick was guessing it was a candy issue, or maybe some have an ad for a candy company too?????

did they (guides) make the connection to Clopay because of Leon's example or was the name Clopay known before? I havent owned one in some time and back then they were known as "Foto-Fun" cards with no mention of Clopay.

Im having trouble connecting Foto-Fun to Clopay.

Maybe ca.1938 the Foto-Fun Company just happened to move to Clopay Square Cincinnati, next to the Clopay Window Blinds Company?????

Clopay in 1941 was at 1211 Clopay Sq.
Clopay in 1943 was at 1278 and 1279 Clopay Sq.

Foto-Fun ca.1937/38 was at 1231 Dayton St.
then Leons card says just Clopay Sq. with no address.

I cant find any reference to Clopay ever being on Dayton St. (address on mine and Rhetts card)

Clopay Corp. was at 1252 Dayton St. in a May 3, 1937 issue of LIFE Magazine window blinds ad on page 88.

Frank, I have always figured this was a Cincinnati promotion (at least to a large degree) and not only because their address was in Cincy. Of the 30-35 I have owned, a great # of the players were Cincinnati guys--maybe it was just the initial collectors preference but they seem heavily represented in the set.
