who's rookie season is this?
Posted By: Ted Zanidakis
Black Sox Fan

You are correct.

I have his 1933 Goudey card (#221); and it reads that he
was the A.L. Batting champ in 1932 (.367). It is strange;
however, that in 1932 he was traded from Detroit to the
Red Sox.

It is even more strange that he had such a short BB career
(only 5 yrs). During those years he batted a .331 Average.

Posted By: dennis
that was fast.....the stats look dimaggioesque,someone who could run.not the 6'3" lumbering dale alexander. what a rookie year! donald honig writes "alexanders .367 cost foxx the triple crown..despite his potent bat his slowness afoot & adventuresome ways with ground balls forced his departure from the big leagues at the age of 30. dale was a DH born before his time."
