T206 Miller-Pittsburgh No H
Posted By: Dave
My Miller card has no H; it says Pittsurg. Is this a known error card?

Or is this just a printing error?

The rest of the ink on the title is thin.

The back is a Piedmont 350.

Posted By: barry arnold
My scholarly friend, Steve, is quite right about the h being dropped
around 1890 or so by the U.S. Board of Geographic Names---and put back
in again around 1911.
I'm thinking the tobacco baseball card companies must have been obedient in
printing Pittsburg without the H. At least, that's my take.

Barry

It's a super-double-error-variation-squared card worth billions...

http://www.sgccardregistry.com/images.asp?cardid=28507&usetid=1015
