t3 turkey red size issues?

Posted By: jeff
hello
fairly new to vintage cards...still learning. my neighbor is an old fella who showed me a card he had in a case. it was a chief meyers at bat horizontal card in GREAT shape. researched and found it to be a t3 turkey red cabinet card....except the size. this card was the size of a normal card, whereas the real turkey reds were significantly larger, is that correct? does that mean this is a reprint? it's not in perfect shape, and does look old, but if it's not like 8"x5", then does that mean it's not the real deal 1911 version? all help is appreciated. thanks
jeff

Posted By: identify7
Your neighbor's card could be a lot of things, but if it is the size of a normal card, then it is not a Turkey Red. So, what is it?

Please show us a scan, and we can possibly tell you. If you can't scan it, or get a digital photo, can you xerox it?

Posted By: jeff
thanks everyone for your fast and helpful responses. much appreciated.
i'll scan the card this evening and repost the question as to what the heck it might be. hopefully something more than a reprint.....so it is, i take it, possible that it might be something else vintage?
were there other cards then that were similar to the turkey reds format? either way, i'll have scans up later today. thanks
jeff

Posted By: bcornell
If it's Chief Myers at Bat, then it could only be a T3, but in this case it's a Fritsch reprint of that card. They were made to the standard size. To quote the scammers, "it doesn't say reprint anywhere on the card".

Bill
