Whats up with these? T202 end panel
Posted By: Keith
I am a novice tobacco collector, but what is up with the below auction. They appear to all be T205's, but only 1 has a gold border, and the others are all smaller in size

<a href="http://cgi.ebay.com/LOT-OF-8-BASEBALL-TOBACCO-CARDS-WITH-TY-COBB_W0QQitemZ5240794408QQcategoryZ86840QQrdZ1QQcm dZViewItem</a" target="_new">http://cgi.ebay.com/LOT-OF-8-BASEBALL-TOBACCO-CARDS-WITH-TY-COBB_W0QQitemZ5240794408QQcategoryZ86840QQrdZ1QQcm dZViewItem</a>

edited title for clarification

Posted By: davidcycleback
The T202 pieces have some but minor value. I've seen a Cobb or Mathewson sell for $50-- and those are obviously the cream of the crop piece-wise.

Posted By: jay behrens
Creaseless Cobb's have been selling for over $100 lately. Used to be, you could pick them up for $25 or less. Seem there is nothing vintage, no matter the condition, that doesn't command huge money if it pictures a top flight HOFer.

Jay

My place is full of valuable, worthless junk.

Posted By: John
A "Smokey" Joe Wood end panel went for over $100 recently as well. They are nice "pieces" if you want to pick up players for a fraction of the cost of an entire T202 or a T205.

Posted By: Lee Behrens
Or you could have bought a nice T202 SGC 10 Cobb for alittle over $200:

http://cgi.ebay.com/1912-T202-Hassan-Triple-Fold-SGC-10-Poor-1-w-Ty-Cobb_W0QQitemZ5238366020QQcategoryZ57993QQrdZ1QQcm dZViewItem

I am a believer that Cobb stuff are still relative bargains in the market. I missed the boat on this Cobb.

The end panels seem to always sell not sure if the buyers know exactly what they are or just looking for a cheap way to collect a set.

Lee
