Posted By: leon
I was the first darn poster and it got deleted. I guess that's fair payback ....I remember talking Tbob and others to use this venue (Elliot picked it) instead of Mike's on Yahoo. This one was easier and better I thought. Mike had no issue and said no prob and is still a good hobby friend...though he's been MIA for a while...... so he shut his site down and here we are....regards

Posted By: Rhys
It is amazing how much the hobby, and this forum have changed in about 4 years. On the old Full Count Forum everyone's beef was with BMW cards it seemed everyday and as much as I hated it at the time, I actaully miss the Wentz Brothers meticulous quotes and responses to every post about them. It will be interesting to see what happens with this forum in another 4 years. The old forum was much more informational in my opinion, and this forum is much more of a show and tell venue (nobody's fault it is just the progression of it) but either way it gives you something to do everyday when you want to talk to someone about old baseball cards and the wife just doesn't want to hear it anymore! I still cant understand why my wife desn't think this stuff is cool? I enjoy the format of this forum much better than the Full Count forum and Leon does a great job keeping it from becoming a free for all Wrestling Match which it used to digress too from time to time.

Rhys

Posted By: Elliot
Mike and John started a baseball card forum as part of John's website (Full Count Baseball Cards). When they decided to shut that forum down for various reasons, I started this forum (hosted at N54) and most of the people from the Full Count Forum migrated over here.
I was the official first poster welcoming everybody to the forum, but Leon was a close 2nd. I'm sure those posts are still somewhere in cyberspace.
The forum and hobby sure have changed a lot in the past 4 years. When the forum was started Leon still had a full head of hair. Of course, the Wentzes caused mine to go gray.

Posted By: leon
You very well might have been the first poster as you started this forum. Maybe I was the first peasant poster, as you were the dictator ( I mean moderator/owner )then. So where do I pick up my toupe'? As for more or less info on this site as opposed to the old Fullcount board I think the hobby has changed in the last 4-5 years. Cards are more in cyberspace than they were. I recently tried looking for another vintage baseball card board to read and was, and am, woefully disappointed. This board, as a whole, is exactly what each participant puts into it. It's the best we got for now, imo. regards

Posted By: tbob
Wow, I did a double take until I saw the post date "2001." Has it really been that long ago! Sheesh! Luckily the knuckleheads (most of them) did NOT follow us over here. Things are much, much more pleasant despite the occasional bickering and sniping. The Full Count board was brutal at times, you really learned who your frinds were.

Posted By: john/z28jd
The sad thing is tbob has sat there for 4 years each day wondering why no one has responded to this post, each day checking religiously. He's been saving up a very special bottle of wine for this occasion.Go ahead tbob pop the top on that bottle of Arkansas' Finest, and dont worry about the warning, only hillbillies go blind by drinking it

PS I had the 3rd post on this forum, right after our last 2 fearless leaders
