Posted By: Julie
If you have sent your cards, and are still going crazy--call your LOCAL American Red Cross (I called San Francisco)--where someone will answer the phone (not Washington, D.C, or Indiana) And they will give you their address for your check (check or money order both fine).

Posted By: Julie
some should probably be offered raw, and some passed on to kids. I'm sending--a fair amount of dough (for me) to the I DON'T KNOW WHO I'M SENDING IT TO YET. THE ARC--is not the best place to handle your relief dough--sorry, but that's the way it is..

SGC rules, as far as--Ohoh, better forget I said that!

The ARC ordered NO evaculated, and then left and started setting up shelters in Baton Rouge...they should have been taking part in the (so far not much) evaculation of NO. But...I heard a lady on TV tonight, saying that in Vietnam, there were humungoius rescue helecopters, and sea planes...and where are they in NO? It's like--suddenly there's a 3rd world country that's been hit by a disaster or a genocide, right in the south of the U.S.A!

Your donation will support volunteers in providing food and shelter, managing donations, helping victims get necessary assistance, and long-term rebuilding efforts. For at least the next 90 days, all donations to the Corporation’s Disaster Relief Fund will be directed toward the Hurricane Katrina Volunteer Support Fund to support relief and rebuilding efforts in the impacted areas."
