The First Horizontal Cards?

I found this Ward while searching the Web (no, I don't own it):<br /><br /><img src="http://www.goodwinauction.com/images_items/Item_1006_3.jpg"><br /><br />Also, I recently picked up this Buchner Gold Coin card:<br /><br /><img src="http://i1.ebayimg.com/02/i/04/6b/62/a1_12_sb.JPG"><br /><br /><img src="http://i9.ebayimg.com/03/i/04/5f/d2/3b_12_sb.JPG"><br /><br />According to Lipset's Encyclopedia, the card of George (Dandy) Wood is the only horizontal card in the Buchner Gold Coin set and is the final card in the set.<br /><br />Are these two the first horizontal baseball cards from a known set or were there any earlier ones?<br /><br />

I think I'm secure enough in my collection to be able to say that <img src="/images/happy.gif" height=14 width=14><br /><br />Seriously, as a Phillies collector I had never seen that Wood Buchner card before...
