Posted By: Julie
Trade cards from 1888: the first, Osterhout & Goodrich Mens and Boys Clothing, scorecard on the back, Philadelphia and Athletic, 1888. The second is blank backed. Posted By: Anson
I didn't find anything Maybe I left a little too soon. I still can't believe that some of those people actually pay for a table with what they show up with.

I can do without 87' Topps sets thank you very much

It was incorrectly described as a 19th century baseball advertisement in the auction. The most well-known (only known?) use of this particular oilcloth was in Babe Ruth's father's bar where it's seen in upper right of the famous photo taken in the bar on Dec. 25, 1915 (with Babe and his father behind the bar). The oilcloth has a calander attached to the bottom and has the advertisement: "Ruth's Cafe" "Babe Ruth's Favorite".
http://www.lelands.com/bid.aspx?lot=1310&auction=505

The usual suspects: Macrae's show
Posted By: Julie
Were these rare cards, or what? I've bought a T206 Plank, a 1885 Baseball Champions Harper's Woodcut, a common T206 Cycle back, a T206 McGraw (sweater), scads of Colgans, a Bouse Hutton 1906 LaCrosse postcard, a Fatima Cleveland team card, a Zeenut McMullen (no coupon, Barker back), --jeez, I could go on all day. None of them were trimmed (except the coupon off the Zeenut).

To say that he had a "handful' OF cards from a particular set which he told you immediately were trimmed is one thing; to say he had "piles" of trimmed cards in his cases is ridiculous!

Posted By: Anson
He showed me his list, as he didn't have them in the case. He told me that they were short upfront. I did also see some T206s that were clearly cut while some other gentleman was sorting through them on the table. Probably what Brian saw too.

Mark wasn't trying to deceive anyone. He told me about the cards and offered scans. I was just disappointed that I couldn't use them.

Posted By: Anson
Ok, I'm laughing at that one. I'm surprised at all the stuff you guys found. Maybe I didn't look hard enough. I saw 3 tables with decent stuff (Kevin J's, Mark's, and one other). Where were the T3s, National Games, and Ramlys at?

All I saw were a bunch of people who spent money on tables but had nothing to sell to pay for the cost. Sal Bando cards don't get me doing cartwheels.

Posted By: Julie
that Mark has in his case is also entered in a notebook as TRIMMED, and if you were to ask to see one, or a bunch, you would immediately be told they were trimmed.

The National Game Wagner came from Mark; the trade cards from someone named Kevin, who Mark told me might have some 19th cerntury stuff.

Posted By: BcD
I even told Bill they looked like maybe they were all "American beauty" backs (on the 200- T-206's he had). The T-207s were obviously trimmed. Bill- me pushy? All I did was offer three guys double or nothing and to flip a quarter for their entire table inventories including Anson's ex-employee Kevin Johnson. Hell,I bought the guy lunch and even went and got it and brought it back to him. Anson, the show sucked and you know it.Nothing to buy.I did all my purchasing from customers and met Marcus who wont respond now to my e-ails! Dooooooooooooh! Out of despiration I had to buy three cards from Bill!
