Question about 1950-51 Toleteros set

There is a Josh Gibson card decribed as one of the finest baseball cards in the world.<br /><br /><a href="http://www.lelands.com/bid.aspx?lot=406&auction=505" target="_new" rel="nofollow">http://www.lelands.com/bid.aspx?lot=406&auction=505</a><br /><br />We talked about this card before and I think the concensus was that the image is definitely Josh Gibson because his son Josh Jr. was scrawnier.<br /><br />My question is whether the entire set was meant for contemporary players at the time. Ryan's website has a checklist of 180 different players in this set. Does anyone know whether any other player in this set was retired or deceased at the time of issue?<br /><br />
