Restoration question - Card vs. books/etc...
 

Posted By: <b>Dave Williams</b><p>Why is it OK and increase the value of books/paintings/etc... to have a professional attempt to restore an old books binding or touch up a painting, but if I erase pencil marks on the back of a card, I've somehow devalued the card by "altering it?"<br /><br />Does that make any sense?

Posted By: <b>leon</b><p>It's not personal when folks don't answer questions that you have. A lot of times it's because we have covered them numerous times on this board. If you do a search on some key words you will probably find many discussions on this topic. Folks just don't want their cards restored, they want them to be virgin <img src="/images/happy.gif" height=14 width=14>, and writing generally detracts from the aesthetics...take care
