Sheesh. Jujudrum, whoever you are, I owe you one. Grrrrrrr.

Brian Goldner is my name, and i have been a collector for over 30 years, including a stint as a dealer in the 1980's. Some of you may know me, and some of you may not. i was lucky enough to acquire my first pre-war cards in about 1969, many of which, i wish i still owned. with regard to this forum, i have been a long-time lurker, and enjoy reading everyone's input. thus, the majority of you, need no introduction. i am aware of, and respect each of your contributions to the hobby, and look forward to being part of future discussions. Posted By: <b>Bob Marquette</b><p>I've had guys explain to me both sides of the argument:<br /><br />1) If you can get a card you need, especially a scarce one, get it in whatever condition possible and you can always upgrade later and:<br />2) Don't waste your time and money buying cards you aren't happy with for your collection because it is a pain to buy and then turn around and re-sell when the right one comes along.<br /><br />I guess I subscribe to the 2nd theory on commons and readily available cards but definitely follow the first theory when it comes to tough cards. Amazingly enough, when you do get the opportunity to upgrade, you can sell the filler card for more than you paid, a lot of the time.
